iOS games 2020 have come a far way from being the casual time killers they were back in the day of the original iPhone. Both the OS and the hardware have made a massive leap allowing for the level of gameplay we could only dream of reaching on a console or PC a decade ago.
The out-of-the-box approach makes the best action games for iOS much more and user-friendly, while support for controllers has offered a unique gameplay experience that is not limited by the touchscreen. If there has ever been a time to play an action game on your phone – that time is now!Best Action Games iOS Edition
So, what will we be treating ourselves to on our favorite mobile platform of choice in 2020? Oh, the list is limitless. That’s why I took the liberty of collecting the best shooters, adventures, and action rpg iOS has to offer. The list is based on both the user score and my personal experience with the game.Modern Combat 5 Blackout: This is a slick, Call of Duty-like militaristic shooter with otherworldly graphics I never knew my phone was capable of pulling off. The gameplay is well-designed and adapted for touchscreens. The shots feel real. Audio and recoil add weight to every shot. Fortnite: The undeniable champion of battle royale games has been a staple on the action-packed arena of iOS players ever since its introduction to the platform. I doubt the game needs a better introduction. Gangster New Orleans: this fascinating blend of GTA V and Mafia hammers in the console-like gameplay of an AAA action-adventure. - The Ultimate iPhone Models to Kick Ass In Fortnite
Fortnite has already taken the world by storm. It has become the most-played online game in 2017, and it manages to keep its positions at the top until this day with more than 78.3 million active players. Most of the game's success comes from mobile players who get to enjoy the battle royale on their handheld devices.
Alas, not all phones were made equal. iPhone Fortnite is reserved for only particular, up-to-date phone models. What iPhone Does Fortnite Work on?
The answer to the question of what the iPhone can play Fortnite is simple. Here is the list of supported devices:iPhone SE iPhone 7 and 7 Plus IPhones 8 and 8+ And, of course, the iPhones X and XI
That being said, you should really be asking about Fortnite iPhone controllers. As we all know, the game is a reaction-based battle royale where the players have much more on their plate than shooting. The building aspect of the game takes as much practice and precision, which, in turn, is barely achievable on a smartphone screen.
Do yourself a favor and invest in an iPhone-compatible controller, or use your Xbox Elite if you are rocking iOS 14 before even thinking about playing a competitive multiplayer game. The other players you will be fighting against will not handicap themselves—neither should you.
The second thing to worry about is the size of the screen. The smaller SE and iPhone 7 models don’t have enough screen real estate to both tap, shoot, build, and see where you are going!Endgame
I sincerely hope this little post answers all of your questions regarding rocking at Fortnite on an iPhone. That being said, please make sure to ask if anything still interests you. Also, share your thoughts on the mobile version of the game. Did it cut it for you?

- The Definitive iOS 14 Gaming Guide
Apple’s recent iOS 14 beta has brought a lot to a mobile gamer. And then it took some things away. For starters, iOS 14 games will have better controller support, which is nice for both iPhone and even iPad owners who hate swiping their screens without the game recognizing the correct input.
Gaming on iOS also brings in button remapping as well as access to advanced options and button mapping controls.iOS 14 Concept for Gamers
As I’ve already mentioned, iOS 14 comes with advanced controller support. Xbox Elite and Xbox adaptive controllers are yours to plug and play as you see fit.
More on the matter, the new platform offers keyboard and mouse support, effectively turning one’s iPad into a miniature mobile gaming PC. Yep, expect a lot of PC-classics that you could not have imagined playing on a touchscreen making their move to the Apple Store in the near future. What a time to be alive!
That being said, few mobile apps on the market support the same features. It will be up to the developers to introduce new, mesmerizing ways of utilizing the capabilities iOS 14 brings to the table. Until then, the update doesn’t offer anything other than a scratch to your “I wanna check it out” itch. The Downsides of Gaming on iOS 14
For starters, the lineup of iOS 14 supported devices is slim. You will need to rely on a new model of an iPhone or an iPad to get qualified for the beta.
Secondly, the OS is still in beta, which means you’ll be seeing bugs and glitches. Some games such as Niantic’s Pokémon Go simply don’t work on the beta.
All in all, the platform shows a lot of promise for gamers, but I’d still suggest waiting for the official release.
